The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) created a “Physical Security Checklist For Election Offices” that includes key roles for security guard staff. As election day draws closer, a strong security plan for election offices is important for staff safety and voting integrity.

–Observe parking areas for unattended vehicles or suspicious activity.

–Monitor parking areas with policies to act on unauthorized vehicles.

–Institute access control policies for personnel, volunteers and the public to permit only authorized access to sensitive locations.

–Prevent visitors from entering through unauthorized entry points.

–Practice incident response.
