Technology

We use GPS so we know in real time where our foot patrol personnel and vehicles are located. We monitor our security guards while they are on duty 24/7. They must check in at specific times throughout their shift.

This is critical. If a guard does not check in at the arranged time for any reason, we dispatch a security lead to the site to assess the situation, and when necessary, take over the guard shift.

Scanning Check-In System

We want to make sure that our guards are covering their scheduled rounds on time. To do so, we install small Radio Frequency-Identification (RFID) tags throughout the property. When a security guard passes a RFID location, a RFID scanner records it.
The RFID scans are reviewed by a security field officer to verify security guards are properly monitoring all designated sites at a location. These reports are available to clients for review.

FAQ'S

Are All Your Guards Licensed?

Yes. All our guards have successfully passed a licensing exam by the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services in California or the Arizona Department of Public Safety in Arizona. Additional ongoing training is required to maintain a current license. At APS, we also provided continuing education training and additional training as security needs arise or new technology is introduced.

Are Your Security Guards CPR And First Aid Trained?

Yes. All our guards have successfully completed CPR and First Aid certification training and are required to keep these certifications current.

Do Security Guards Have The Authority To Make Arrests?

Part of a security guard’s training and duties is having the power to arrest those who are suspected of committee illegal acts. Typically, guards will detain the individual and then contact law enforcement for assistance.

Do Your Guards Carry Guns?

Some of our guards are licensed to carry a firearm. Not all security situations require that guards be armed. We evaluate the security needs of clients and discuss with clients whether an armed security service would be appropriate.

Do You Conduct Background Checks On Your Guards?

Yes. Part of the state licensing process requires that potential private security guards undergo and pass a criminal FBI background check. APS also checks DMV history and employment history. We check personal references and conduct drug screenings.

How Do You Determine The Right Kind Of Security Measures For Each Assignment?

Although there are often similarities in many security jobs, every assignment is different. We discuss your needs and review your site before suggesting security measures.

Are Guards Available Around The Clock?

Yes. Our guards regularly conduct patrols at retail businesses, residential communities, office buildings, outdoor sites, parking lots, warehouses and hospitals 24/7. Crime can occur at any hour of the day. Overnight hours are often when break-ins and vandalism are attempted. Our guards are always on call and available for service.

Do You Work With Local Governments And Agencies?

Yes. We regularly contract with government entities to help with patrols of parks, beaches, government buildings and other public areas.

What Type Of Security Technology Do You Use?

We use GPS devices so we can monitor, in real time, where our foot patrol guards and vehicles are located at a client’s property. To ensure that our guards are covering their scheduled rounds correctly and on time, we install small Radio Frequency-Identification (RFID) tags throughout the property. When a security guard passes a RFID location, a RFID scanner records it. This is important because it verifies that guards are where they need to be at all times.

Do You Suggest Using Security Cameras?

We believe security cameras can deter crime if their feeds are monitored continuously in real time. If one of our offsite personnel spots something suspicious on a camera feed at a client’s location, onsite guards are immediately contacted to investigate. This has far more value than reviewing security camera video after a crime is committed. By then, the criminal is long gone and the chances for arrest are reduced.

Are Your Guards Trained in Emergency Response?

Violence, accidents, natural disasters–or a pandemic–can occur at any time. When an emergency happens, the public looks to police and uniformed security guards to help them through the ordeal. Our trained guards assess the situation and do what is needed for the public safety. When evacuations are in order, our guards quickly and calmly escort the public to safety until further help arrives. When COVID-19 hit, we immediately trained our guards to provide health screenings at hospitals and medical centers, and stationed guards at retail stores, businesses and other public and private spaces to ensure the public was complying with health and safety requirements.

How Do You Bill For Services?

Once we discuss your security needs, we develop and present a security plan and a budget based on the level of recommended service. All costs are spelled out so there are no surprises. You’ll find our prices fair and honest.

What Kind Of Training is Required To Become A Licensed Security Guard?

After passing an initial licensing exam and background check by the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services in California or the Arizona Department of Public Safety in Arizona, guards are then required to put in further hours of training. For example, California requires that guards take 32 hours of additional training within the first six months of being hired by a security guard company. Annual continuing education is also required. Armed guards must pass additional firearms training.

How Much Can A Security Guard Earn?

It varies. Hourly rates depend on the amount of needed experience, type of skills required for a particular assignment and whether the guard is armed or unarmed.

Hire the best private security guard service in Los Angeles

Hospitals are a busy place of medical care where doctors, patients, nurses, support staff, and medical professionals come together. Just like any other organization, hospitals too need high-level management to ensure proper functioning. On the other hand, it is a place where emotions run high and are therefore vulnerable. To ensure everything operates smoothly, the most important thing is security. Anybody entering a hospital should not be worried about their safety and security, and it is the responsibility of the employer that a place of such importance should be completely secured.  Hospitals need the best private security guard service in Los Angeles to ensure a safe and secured environment where medical care can be served in the best possible way.

In the modern world, while we are advancing towards new possibilities, there remains a constant fear of insecurity. We have seen many incidents, especially at hospitals, where property has been damaged due to vandalism, hospital equipment has been stolen, and even patients have suffered due to unfortunate emergencies. The general opinion on hiring professional security guard services is that security guards are only deployed to protect the premises from thieves and vandals. The fact is, it is much more than that. The role of professional security guards has evolved with modern times. They are now much more than just safeguarding the premises from illegal activities. There are many ways in which private security guard service in Los Angeles can make a difference. Let us dive deep into some of the key factors that make them the silent heroes of hospitals.

Managing visitors in a hospital is a Herculean task. The entire area is bustling with people and vehicles that need to be properly managed for uninterrupted services. Firstly, there is a high possibility of traffic congestion in front of the hospital if the incoming and outgoing vehicles are unable to move towards the right direction. Besides, parking space management is a vital part of managing the traffic. Needless to mention, nobody would want an ambulance carrying a patient to the hospital stuck in the traffic congestion. Companies offering professional security guard services understand every minute at a hospital is costly, as lives are dependent on quick medical services. Therefore, companies train their security guards in a way that they are able to manage the traffic efficiently. They guide the drivers to the parking lots, help patients get down from their vehicles, and ensure any vehicle without a purpose is not parked at the premises.

Protection of hospital assets is another important factor where security guards play a vital role. Any medical care unit, be it a large or a small one, is equipped with valuables such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, instruments, equipment, and other resources. If these are stolen or damaged, not only will the hospital suffer severe losses but also face interruptions in providing medical care to patients. Professional security officers conduct regular patrolling to check to make sure there are no thefts. They also keep an eye on the assets through monitoring surveillance systems. This practice prevents criminals from committing any crime and safeguards the hospital’s resources.

There have been many reports where healthcare workers have faced threats and have been victims of verbal and physical abuse. Hospitals have realized that healthcare workers are the backbone of the hospital, and the safety cannot be neglected. Hiring a private security guard service in Los Angeles is the best solution to safeguard all the employees of the hospitals, which includes workers, staff members, doctors, nurses, the administrative department, and others. Security guards can immediately intervene if there is workplace violence and de-escalate the matter. In fact, large hospitals have experienced great results after employing professional security guard services, as their presence has reduced workplace harassment, physical assaults, and verbal abuse.

Hospitals are places where everyone is used to medical emergencies. Keeping in mind the several types of medical emergencies, hospitals often take precautions. However, emergencies can occur in many forms, such as a fire break out or a natural disaster. There are emergency service providers available; however, have you ever thought about who makes the first call to the firefighters? Who evacuates the patients and visitors from the hospital? It is the dedicated team of security guards who are the first point of contact with regards to support during any kind of emergency situation. Well-trained security guards have the ability to act effectively on their feet and ensure the situation does not go out of hand. They also support emergency service experts as much as possible.

Hospitals being a busy place with people all around, there is always a chance of unwanted people entering the premises. There are sensitive areas, such as the intensive care unit, medical test unit, data storage, and many departments that need to have restricted access. Enterprises that offer the most professional security guard services ensure that they establish a robust access control system in the hospital. This means that security guards keep a check on the visitors entering and exiting the hospital. They maintain a logbook that captures visitors’ details and also make sure that nobody without valid identification is permitted to the sensitive units of the hospitals.
